Ceremonies and Milestones
One of the Australian Oxford Dictionary definitions for ceremony is:
formal procedure, especially at a public event or anniversary
and milestone as:
significant event or point in a life, history, project.
A rather dry way of defining two words that contain so much imagination, growth, hope, sorrow, joy and history.
Our milestones are the important times in our life that mark a change in our social standing, a growth.
The most commonly acknowledged milestones are
- Coming of Age,
- Engagement,
Marriage, - Funerals.
With all of them we commemorate the occasion, making the day special, memorable, cathartic.
